Hello, my name is Stefanie Coutu (she/her). I am a Métis social worker, counsellor, and Indigenous end-of-life guide offering mental health and substance use/addictions support. Based on the traditional Ts'msyen territories in the quaint, coastal town of Prince Rupert, BC, I provide in-person services within my community and virtual support to individuals aged 12+ across BC. I offer individual, couples/partners, family, and group counselling.
I take an integrative approach to therapy, incorporating specialized trauma therapies like EMDR and ART, along with other evidence-based methods. I am deeply committed to weaving Métis traditional knowledge and holistic wellness into my practice, which often includes mindfulness, body or movement, and land-based work. My approach is centred on balance, connectedness, and compassion.
As we meet, guided by the Métis way of kaa-wiichitoyaahk—we take care of each other —I am here to support you.
